We have recently changed to our new winter hours.   We will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.  Wednesday through Friday we will be open for dinner starting at 4:30 and closing at 8:30.  We will be open for Lunch and Dinner on Saturday and Sunday starting at 11:30 and closing at 8:30.

All new at the Bistro:   Reserve your own Chefs Table”.  This will require seven days prior notice.  The evening will be comprised of a variety of chef  creations and delicacies, enjoyed over five courses. Amuse Buche, appetizer, intermezzo, entrée and dessert.  This option is offered at 45 dollars per person.  You can also make it complete by having it paired with wines for you for 75 dollars a person.  This is sure to be an evening you wont soon forget.  Reservations must be a minimum of 2 people. Tax and gratuity are not included, and an early cancellation fee may apply.

Bistro Nouveau was designed around concepts we believed would be exciting and new to an up and coming area. Our motto, “Innovative food, fresh ingredients, great value,” summarizes the concepts best.

The Company

Bistro Nouveau was started in late 2003 by chef/owner Doug Langevin and his wife, Isabel. The first restaurant was a small 70 seat bistro located in Claremont, NH. The restaurant offered lunch and dinner and a full service catering company. Bistro Nouveau Catering expanded in 2006, bringing Doug and Isabel to make the decision to move the company into a larger property. Bistro Nouveau at the Center at Eastman was opened in the spring of 2007.

The Food

The bistro is a “from scratch” kitchen. We strive to provide the freshest possible ingredients made to order. Our chef team has degrees in the culinary arts from various schools and has traveled around the United States, experiencing different flavors and cuisines. This has brought a unique combination of talent and experience that is hard to find and is truly a remarkable asset to our restaurant. The bistro prepares food that is both comforting and exotic. The menu changes several times per year so there is always something different for everyone. To add comfort and facilitate the wine selection process, all entrees are paired with suggested wines. We are also very excited to offer wine dinners throughout the year.

The Wine

bn_redwine.jpgOur wine list is focussed around exciting wines with great flavor and value. Doug and Isabel like to promote wine that is complimentary to the food at a reasonable price to the consumer. They feel wine should be enjoyed as a complete dining experience. Wines are offered both by the glass and the bottle.

The Chef

Doug Langevin began his career at the culinary arts program at the Sugar River Valley Tech Center. He continued his education at Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island, receiving a Bachelors degree in the culinary arts.

Doug quickly gained a wide range of experience in top, high rated restaurant companies, including The Gatehouse & Cheeky Monkey, Clyde’s Restaurant Group and Einstein’s Restaurant. At Einstein’s, Doug began a catering department that blossomed and was continually busy. To this day, their catering department continues to be very successful.

In November of 2003 Doug returned home to Claremont to open the doors of Bistro Nouveau. Bistro Nouveau is the compilation of Doug’s experience: upscale, fresh, innovative and affordable.
